During the quarter, Wikimedia DC received one grant application for a total amount of $150.00, and awarded one grant for the sum of $82.36 as a result. The grant was used to fund an edit-a-thon on women in architecture in Philadelphia, hosted in partnership with the Guggenheim Foundation. Ten people participated at this event, and six articles were improved.

The Board of Directors held one meeting during the quarter, on August 9. At the meeting, the Board recommended two amendments to the Bylaws: one to adjust the composition of the Board from seven elected seats to six elected seats and three appointed seats, and one to allow the revocation of membership under certain circumstances. These amendments were subsequently approved by Wikimedia DC's membership via ballot.

Programs and events

Wikimedia DC held four editing events this quarter:

  • A Women in Arts and Tech edit-a-thon with Tech LadyMafia on July 25;
  • A Women in Video and Film edit-a-thon with the Women in Film and Video Archives on August 15;
  • The second annual Wikipedia APA edit-a-thon with the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center on September 4; and
  • The Brookland Neighborhood edit-a-thon with Catholic University on September 16.
