Wikimedia DC is beginning a pilot program to provide editors with funding to buy books. You can apply for up to $500 here, and we will get back to you ASAP with a response. If you have any questions, you can email Emily Temple-Wood at keilanawiki at gmail dot com.
Who is eligible: Anyone in the United States is eligible. You do not have to be a member of Wikimedia DC. You must be an active Wikipedia editor; participating on English Wikipedia is not required.
What we can provide: We will provide you your requested books to use in improving Wikipedia!
Process: You fill out the application. We respond and let you know if your grant request is accepted, waitlisted, or rejected. If you are accepted, we will then ask for your name and address so we can send books to you. We will then periodically ask you for feedback regarding the grant and regarding what you have accomplished.
After the first pilot grants are issued, we will collect results and report here. Sister projects will be included once the pilot is completed!
