The histories of women in these spaces is not well documented online, but they deserve to be told. Dr. Crystal M. Moten, curator of African American history in the division of Work and History at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, will speak about her work and the importance of telling her stories at the edit-a-thon.

Many of the featured artists came of age during the civil rights era and channeled the period's social activism into assertive aesthetic statements that announced a new political and cultural consciousness among people of Mexican descent in the United States. Learn how to edit and create new Wikipedia articles in this online editing workshop and work to amplify and expand on articles about Chicanx women and LGBTQ+ artists.
