In 1838, Jesuit priests sold 272 enslaved people who worked on Jesuit plantations in Southern Maryland. Proceeds from the sale were used to pay a portion of Georgetown University's debts. The Georgetown Slavery Archive was established in 2016 to maintain and share materials related to slavery and the 1838 sale. The Rise and Impact of Chicano Graphics, 1965 to Now. The exhibition brings together five decades of innovative printmaking by Chicano artists to explore the social justice-rooted artistic tradition and its contemporary legacy. Many of the featured artists came of age during the civil rights era and channeled the period's social activism into assertive aesthetic statements that announced a new political and cultural consciousness among people of Mexican descent in the United States. Learn how to edit and create new Wikipedia articles in this online editing workshop and work to amplify and expand on articles about Chicanx women and LGBTQ+ artists. All levels of technological proficiency welcome.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service (USDA ARS) and Wikimedia DC invite Wikipedians of all levels of experience to participate in this Farm-to-Fork Sustainability Edit-a-thon. Topics will include plant and animal production, pest management, bioproducts, and agroecosystem conservation practices. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to meet ARS scientists, librarians, and data science experts.
