Moten, curator of African American history in the division of Work and History at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, will speak about her work and the importance of telling her stories at the edit-a-thon.

During this training, attendees of all experience levels will learn the basics of how to edit Wikipedia by updating articles related to the history of women in finance and business in the United States. Ariel Cetrone, Wikimedia DC, will lead the Wikipedia tutorial and beginners are welcome. Zoom link will be sent upon registration.

As one of the web’s most visited reference sites, Wikipedia serves as a starting point for many individuals looking to learn about art, history, and science. Content on Wikipedia is not even, currently only 18% of biographies are about women. Help us correct that imbalance by editing articles about women on Wikipedia.
