|title = Unsung Marylanders: Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

|time = 12 PM – 4 PM

|place = '''Maryland Historical Society'''

|address = 201 West Monument Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201

|description = Did you know that long-time resident Paul Henderson was one of the first professional photojournalists and a pioneering force for the Baltimore Afro American newspaper? Maryland was also home to Elizabeth Patterson Bonaparte, who was briefly married to Napoleon’s younger brother Jerome, and went on to become one of the wealthiest female property owners in 19th century Maryland. Still, Henderson and Bonaparte remain largely unknown to the public. Join the Maryland Historical Society and Wikimedia D.C. to learn how you can help to share the stories of these, and many other Marylanders who deserve greater recognition.

Wikimedia D.C. will teach participants how to become editors and update entries on Wikipedia, while MdHS staff will show you how to use archival collections and other reliable source material to further highlight the stories of unsung Marylanders.

Participants will need to bring their own laptops. Wikimedia DC has two laptops to loan, and they can reserved by emailing info@wikimediadc.org. This is a FREE program that includes admission to the museum. Lunch will also be provided by Wikimedia DC.
