Description of purpose

Please tell us a little about the project or activity for which you are requesting funding. Please provide enough detail to allow us to evaluate how your request aligns with our charitable mission.

(5) What is the purpose for which the funding will be used?
Quick-start funding for Cascadia Wikimedians User Group. We are reqesting expedited funding because we have a coupon for 50% off of the first 6 months of the accounting software that we intend to use. The coupon expires January 31.
(6) How does this purpose align with our mission?
Cascadia Wikimedians User Group intends to be a nonprofit, educational, regional affiliate of the Wikimedia movement in Oregon, Washington State, and British Columbia. For more information, please see our goals and Annual Plan which we are currently discussing: [1]

I need to know that a commitment has been made by January 31st to reimburse the expenses. I am willing to spend funds personally and be reimbursed later if I have a commitment that the funds will be reimbursed in a reasonably timely manner.
(9) What specific costs will the funding cover?

Approximate budget breakdown follows:

1. Two months of Xero subscription, after discount, plus tax: $33

  • Actual cost for Feb: $14.03 + 9.5% sales tax = $15.36
  • Actual cost for March: $15 + 9.5% sales tax = $16.43
  • Actual total: $31.79
Receipts available: Yes for original bills, no for tax payments. The sales and use tax will be paid annually so amount will be paid with our 2015 full year taxes.

2. Two months of Impact HUB rent, for 2 days each month: $70 $42 after discount 3. Two months of Impact HUB mailbox rent: $50 $30 after discount

Amendment: use of remaining funds (approximately $48 $33 $43) for purchase and shipping of business cards for distribution to people like students, professors, librarians, and institutional partners.

  • Receipt available: the receipt for the initial purchase of $8.20 is available; receipt of $4.12 for sending business cards to Another Believer is available. Later, larger purchase ($52.72) appears as an amount due on Pine's credit card. No receipt was emailed. The business card cost that is in excess of this will be withdrawn from the remaining CWUG funds. So:

Total cost of ($8.20+$4.12+$52.72=$65.04). DC portion: $33 $43. Remaining balance to be billed to unrestricted CWUG funds: $22.04
