Some of these requirements are more necessary than others...

We will need a few computers, though some of the devices like scanners could also be connected to laptops that people bring in perhaps.

Live CDs

We might be able to create Ubuntu Live-CDs with the required software for the various modules. This would make it easy to bring in a handful of computers for a workshop and get them up and running quickly. A live CD would also be a useful component of the modules themselves, making them easily replicable elsewhere.
