Wikimedia DC provides small grants to individuals, community groups, and nonprofit organizations to fund activities that align with our mission to advance general knowledge and collect, develop, and disseminate educational content under a free license or in the public domain.  Activities for which grants are available can include anything from a library workshop or photo expedition to a small conference.

We encourage applications from anywhere in the United States, or even elsewhere in the world.  There are no deadlines; grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

To apply for a grant, please post an application using the form below.  Once your application is posted, it will be reviewed by our [[Committees#Grants Committee|Grants Committee]], who will make a determination regarding your application within 15 days.  After your application is approved, you will receive either a cash advance or a form to apply for reimbursement once your activity is complete.  

The maximum grant amount that can be requested in a single application is $2,500.  Any unspent funds must be returned to Wikimedia DC.  Please see the [[Grants policy|Grants Policy]] for a full list of applicable terms and conditions.
