Please tell us a little about the project or activity for which you are requesting funding. Please provide enough detail to allow us to evaluate how your request aligns with our charitable mission.

(5) What is the purpose for which the funding will be used?

Attending an Art+Feminism edit-a-thon to provide Wikipedian support. After a librarian at Duke reached out to me[1], I conversed over email and Skype to give information and advice about Wikipedia. The person would appreciate my being there, and I can forward that email thread. (User:Pharos is also aware of my support and interest in this event, and recommended this possible avenue for funding.) The librarian has been trying to secure an experienced Wikipedian to physically help support the event without success.

(6) How does this purpose align with our mission?

This event is designed to produce content that will be disseminated under a free license for educational purposes. It also seeks to address the well-known gender gap by organizing around an explicitly female-associated theme.

$200, largely for travel support from Atlanta, GA (a 5.5 hour drive one-way to Durham, NC)

(8) When will you need funding?

March 7 is the event, and knowing before. My apologies, as this is short notice.

(9) What specific costs will the funding cover?

$30 for food in Durham while there. $110 for 11 hours of driving. $0 for 5+ hours of in-person Wikipedia support. =) And $60 for gas and wear and tear on the vehicle.
