|description = Wikipedia is one of the most highly visited websites in the world, but representation of women of color is strikingly low—both in terms of who contributes to the site and the subjects they write about. Many local and national environmental justice women activists are not represented among Wikipedia's many biographies.
|description = Reflect on a year of Wikipedia activities in the region, including our edit-a-thons, WikiHacks, and Summer of Monuments project, and learn about what we have in stock for next year! We are at an exciting point in time, where interest in Wikipedia is growing in the DC area and there are now more opportunities than ever before to help advance Wikipedia's mission to make the world's knowledge available to all.

  +
Join us to set the record straight, make some friends, and celebrate the activists who have fought to make our urban environments greener. No Wikipedia editing experience necessary; training will be provided.
The event will feature talks by David Ferriero, Archivist of the United States, and Ed Summers, Creator of @CongressEdits. Lunch will be provided!

|description = Wikimedia DC will join WMF Policy experts on an expedition to see the Supreme Court hearing of ''Moody v. NetChoice, LLC'' and ''NetChoice v. Paxton'' cases. They concern moderation of content by online platforms as governed by Section 230. The cases will be heard from 10 AM to noon, one hour each. We believe that we can hear a bit of the session if we line up very early. If you can be in line by 5:30am please join us. It'll be cold and there are no easily available bathrooms so ... prepare as well as possible.
|description = In the spirit of connecting creativity and technology, the Walters Art Museum will host its third annual hackathon, ArtBytes 3. This energetic weekend-long event will bring together communities of practice for the arts, technology, and education. Participants will team up to build programs and applications inspired by art and that enrich the museum experience.

|description = Wiki Loves Small Museums is a workshop event that will be held at the Small Museum Association (SMA) Conference in Ocean City, MD. The annual conference attracts more than 250 museum professionals, board members, and volunteers from a wide variety of small museums. We are seeking Wikipedia volunteers with relevant skills and knowledge to help in this project.

Join Wikimedia DC and the Capitol Hill Chorale as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the arrival of the Shakers in America. Although small in number, the Shakers have exercised an outsized influence on American culture; we honor their egalitarian spirit with an edit-a-thon dedicated to writing notable Shaker women into Wikipedia.
