The National Archives ExtravaSCANza is a series of open workshops to scan historical documents and photographs of interest to Wikipedians, helping to improve the quality of Wikipedia's content and providing access for those Wikipedians who cannot physically visit the National Archives. At the same time, we will be assisting the National Archives in its digitization efforts, and all documents scanned will be added to the National Archives' online catalog by NARA staff.

GLAMcamp DC 2012

GLAMcamp DC is a small conference for Wikimedians active in outreach to cultural institutions in the United States. The format of event will be a workshop for a small group of community-focused and technology-focused Wikimedians to continue and solidify the key elements of the glamwiki.org project, with special focus on the United States. A few representatives from cultural institutions who have worked with Wikimedia will join us during the event.

Wikimania 2012

Venue to be Announced

Wikimania is the annual international conference of the Wikimedia community. Wikimania allows the Wikimedia community and the general public to learn about and share their experiences with free knowledge initiatives all over the world. For 2012, Wikimania is being organized by Wikimedia DC; the main conference will be held on July 12–15, 2012, with special pre-conference events beginning on July 10.
