Transcribe-a-Thon at the National Archives

The Innovation Hub, a new space located in the National Archives’ Washington, DC building, is hosting the first ever transcribe-a-thon in partnership with the National Archives Foundation! We will be joined by Jennifer Johnson and Christine Blackerby, curators of the new Amending America exhibit, as we transcribe documents related to the new exhibit. Anyone can transcribe and win prizes graciously donated by the Foundation.

Historic Maryland Newspapers Edit-a-Thon at the Maryland State Archives

Join the Maryland State Archives and the University of Maryland Libraries' Historic Maryland Newspaper Project for a Wikipedia edit-a-thon in Annapolis. Attendees will learn the basics of editing Wikipedia, meet the MSA's collections of 19th- and 20th-century Maryland newspapers, and dig into expanding and updating Wikipedia articles about Maryland newspaper history. We'll also feature Chronicling America, a national database of digitized historic newspapers hosted by the Library of Congress. These newspapers reflect key social, political, and economic themes of the past that resonate today: race, immigration, labor, rapid technological change, war, and beyond. Learn more »
