I humbly seek the members' support in re-electing me to the Board of Directors. I helped found the organization in 2011, and while serving I aided in the writing of grant applications and in organizing the Wikimania 2012 conference, which was attended by 1,400 people. Additionally, over this past summer I volunteered at the Wikimedia DC office on K Street, helping the Wikimedia DC intern in her work. If re-elected to the Board, my goal for the next two years is to improve our fundraising and strengthen our relationships with cultural institutions and the wider DC community.

I have participated on Wikimedia projects with the username "Messedrocker" from 2004 to 2009 and with the username "Harej" since 2009. Note that on some Wikimedia projects, my username is still listed as "Messedrocker". A full listing of accounts is available here: <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth/Harej> and here: <http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ACentralAuth&target=Messedrocker>. I am currently an administrator on the English Wikipedia, and formerly on English Wikinews and Wikimedia Commons. I was briefly blocked on English Wikinews in June of 2010 due to a conflict involving some particular stubbornness and rage on my part, which was quite foolish in retrospect. Other than that, I have not been subject to sanctions on Wikimedia projects. |
