About Wikimedia District of Columbia is an official chapter, affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation, and is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the advancement of general knowledge and the collection, development, and dissemination of educational content under a free license or in the public domain. The Society supports the work of volunteers on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Foundation projects, along with numerous other free knowledge projects.
