Description of purpose
Please tell us a little about the project or activity for which you are requesting funding. Please provide enough detail to allow us to evaluate how your request aligns with our charitable mission.
- (5) What is the purpose for which the funding will be used?
- We are hosting an all day meetup/training/edit-a-thon at the National Museum of Natural History on October 12 as part of "Wikipedia Loves Libraries." The event runs from 9:30-5:00, so we would like to be able to include a catered lunch for up to 50 Wikimedians, librarians, students, and volunteers.
- (6) How does this purpose align with our mission?
- This is an outreach event that promotes cultivation of new/existing editors, and deepened relationships between Wikimedians and the GLAM community. The lunch is a way of thanking participants for giving their time and contributing to the GLAM-Wiki project.
