In 1838, Jesuit priests sold 272 enslaved people who worked on Jesuit plantations in Southern Maryland. Proceeds from the sale were used to pay a portion of Georgetown University's debts. The Georgetown Slavery Archive was established in 2016 to maintain and share materials related to slavery and the 1838 sale. We will use these materials to edit and create relevant Wikipedia articles. New editors are welcome. Training will be provided.

Wikimedia’s gender trouble is well-documented. While the reasons for the gender gap are up for debate, the practical effect of this disparity, however, is not. Content is skewed by the lack of female participation. This represents an alarming absence in an increasingly important repository of shared knowledge.
Let’s change that. Join us for a communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to art and feminism. We will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian, as well as reference materials, coffee and lunch. Bring your laptop, power cord and ideas for entries that need updating or creation. People of all gender identities and expressions are invited to participate.

Have you ever wondered how scientists make our food supply safer, more nutritious, more abundant, and more sustainable? Learn more while improving the accuracy and quality of online information about sustainability in food and agriculture as a participant in a Wikipedia edit-a-thon!
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service (USDA ARS) and Wikimedia DC invite Wikipedians of all levels of experience to participate in this Farm-to-Fork Sustainability Edit-a-thon. Topics will include plant and animal production, pest management, bioproducts, and agroecosystem conservation practices. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to meet ARS scientists, librarians, and data science experts. They will also learn more about resources available through ARS and its National Agricultural Library.
About your hosts: ARS is USDA’s chief scientific in-house research agency, with more than 90 locations throughout the United States and overseas. The agency’s research spans crop and animal production and protection, natural resource management, food safety and quality, and nutrition. Wikimedia DC is the regional outreach organization for Wikipedia and other projects of the Wikimedia Foundation, promoting participation on Wikimedia projects throughout the United States.
