Wikimedia District of Columbia is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the advancement of general knowledge and the collection, development, and dissemination of educational content under a free license or in the public domain. WM-DC hosts programs in the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the states of Maryland, Delaware, and West Virginia.
WM-DC is a chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation, and supports the work of volunteers on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Foundation projects, along with numerous other free knowledge projects.
