Committees

The Board of Directors of Wikimedia DC is assisted by a number of standing, special, and advisory committees, each of which is responsible for a specific area of the organization's business. The members of each committee are appointed by the Board, and each committee reports to the Board during its regular meetings.

Audit Committee

The Audit Committee is a standing committee; its responsibilities include:

Conducting an annual review of the financial records of Wikimedia DC

Election Committee

The Election Committee is a special committee of the Board of Directors; its responsibilities include:

Soliciting and collecting nomination statements from candidates
Verifying the eligibility of each candidate and preparing a list of eligible candidates
Publishing candidates' individual statements and disclosures
Collecting and tallying ballots cast in the election

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Directors; its responsibilities include:

Advising the Board on fundraising matters relevant to the mission or business of Wikimedia DC
Assisting the Board in preparing grant applications and other solicitation materials on behalf of Wikimedia DC
Assisting the Board in soliciting funds on behalf of Wikimedia DC

Governance Committee

The Governance Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Directors; its responsibilities include:

Assisting the Board in preparing and reviewing policies, contracts, and other legal documents

Assisting the Board in reviewing grant applications submitted to Wikimedia DC

Programs Committee

The Programs Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Directors; its responsibilities include:

Advising the Board on programs and associated matters related to the mission of Wikimedia DC
Assisting the Board in organizing events and activities related to the mission of Wikimedia DC
Assisting the Board in seeking partnerships with institutions sympathetic to the mission of Wikimedia DC

The Programs Committee currently has no members.

Technology Committee

The Technology Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Directors; its responsibilities include:

Advising the Board on technology matters relevant to the mission or business of Wikimedia DC
Assisting the Board of Directors in maintaining the technical infrastructure of Wikimedia DC
