Wikimedia DC encourages applications from anywhere in the United States for any activity which promotes our organization's mission to develop and disseminate free content. This can include anything from a library workshop to a photo expedition or even a small conference. For the month of September 2012, we are prioritizing applications for activities that promote '''Wiki Loves Monuments'''. The maximum amount that can be requested in a single application is $2,500.

For a microgrant request to be considered, it must be submitted through our website for discussion and review. After a comment period of about 15 days, the Grants Committee will make a decision on your application. Once your application is approved, you will either receive a cash advance or a form to apply for reimbursement once your event is carried out. Excess funds must be returned to Wikimedia DC.

Microgrants allow Wikimedians to hold wiki-related activities in their home town.

Anyone can apply for a grant!

The process

Wikimedia DC encourages applications from anywhere in the United States for any activity which promotes our organization's mission to develop and disseminate free content. This can include anything from a library workshop to a photo expedition or even a small conference. For the month of September 2012, we are prioritizing applications for activities that promote Wiki Loves Monuments.

For-profit entities are not eligible for any grants. See the full grants policy for all the details.
