Revision as of 23:57, 9 November 2015
The next AAAS meetings will be February 11–15, 2016. We anticipate helping with edit-a-thon sessions on Feb 13 and Feb 14, and at least one earlier online training session over GoToMeeting.
- The program schedule from the 2015 meetings in Feb 2015 suggests rich, interesting relevant content for us
- Normal registration fees are $160 to $380 -- not really affordable for the chapter; perhaps we can only attend as presenters
- Theme for 2016 is Global Science Engagement, right up our alley
- Peter Meyer, John Sadowski, and Daniel Mietchen are interested in supporting the effort
- also contacted (first pass) Ryan McGready and Samantha Erickson of Wiki Education Foundation on their year of science; we should perhaps coordinate, share materials, co-brand, focus on a collaboration-of-the-month, and suchlike
- Sara Snyder agrees to give the online training and can use Smithsonian science facilities to support the event
- Meeting on Wikipedia for Health and Safety Research and Data (WHSRD)
