John Gallagher
Statement
As a Wikipedia user since childhood and a life long DC resident, I'm excited at the prospect of serving on the Wikimedia DC Board. I look forward to bringing my experience in professional fundraising to the table (in a volunteer capacity this time).

Kirill Lokshin
Statement
My name is Kirill Lokshin (User:Kirill Lokshin on Wikipedia). I was one of the initial members of Wikimedia DC, and have served on the Board and held the position of Secretary since the founding of the chapter. I last stood for election to the Board two years ago, in 2011.
Over the course of my current term, my main focus has been the organizational health and governance of the chapter. As the chair of the Governance Committee, I have led the drafting and implementation of the various legal, financial, and operational policies that our organization has adopted during the past two years. I have also served on the Grants and Audit Committees, and currently chair the latter.
We are entering a key transformational period for our chapter, as our strategic plan begins to take shape and our visibility as a charitable organization increases both within the Washington area and around the world. In this critical time, I hope to continue serving the members of this chapter as a member of the Board.

Emily Temple-Wood
Statement
My name is Emily Temple-Wood, User:Keilana on the Wikimedia projects, and I am very excited to be running for a position on the Wikimedia DC board. Being from Chicago, which has no chapter, I greatly appreciate Wikimedia DC's willingness to accept members from all around the US. I have followed Wikimedia DC's activities in the US with particular interest, and I have been heartened to see their efforts to conduct outreach throughout the DC area and to Wikimedians all around North America, for example, with GLAM Boot camp, which I attended and found very valuable.
As a longtime female editor from outside the DC area, I would have a lot to offer the board especially in terms of gender gap issues. I have extensive experience working on this both on and off Wikipedia. I have conducted editing workshops geared towards women at scientific conferences and recently received a grant from the WMF to host a series of events designed to hep women write about women scientists at my university, Loyola University Chicago. On-wiki, I co-founded WikiProject Women Scientists, and have written extensive audited content about women scientists and women's issues. I have been a member of the Wikipedia community since April 2007 and an administrator on English Wikipedia since November 2007. If elected, I would like to focus on outreach across North America and geared towards women. I believe that Wikimedia DC can be a leader in the US movement and would like to help achieve that vision.
