|description = Wikipedia is one of the most highly visited websites in the world, but representation of women of color is strikingly low—both in terms of who contributes to the site and the subjects they write about. Many local and national environmental justice women activists are not represented among Wikipedia's many biographies.
|description = Join us to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! With the help of experienced WIkipedians, attendees will use resources provided by the National Archives to improve articles related to Hispanic Heritage. No experience necessary. Registration is required. Please bring a laptop or tablet and photo ID.

|description = Wikimedia DC supports and participates in the annual North American conference of Wikimedians which will be held from November 9-12 in Toronto in 2023.
|description = One of the primary ways someone can quickly learn about art and artists is through Wikipedia. Our Edit-a-Thon will focus on improving or creating articles about contemporary artists with ties to the DMV area, particularly those about non-men and artists of color. This workshop will help students develop contact with their own art communities, writing skills, and a knowledge of Wikipedia policies.

In 1838, Jesuit priests sold 272 enslaved people who worked on Jesuit plantations in Southern Maryland. Proceeds from the sale were used to pay a portion of Georgetown University's debts. The Georgetown Slavery Archive was established in 2016 to maintain and share materials related to slavery and the 1838 sale. We will use these materials to edit and create relevant Wikipedia articles. New editors are welcome. Training will be provided.

|description = Wikimedia’s gender trouble is well-documented. While the reasons for the gender gap are up for debate, the practical effect of this disparity, however, is not. Content is skewed by the lack of female participation. This represents an alarming absence in an increasingly important repository of shared knowledge.

Let’s change that. Join us for a communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to art and feminism. We will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian, as well as reference materials, coffee and lunch. Bring your laptop, power cord and ideas for entries that need updating or creation. People of all gender identities and expressions are invited to participate.

They concern moderation of content by online platforms as governed by Section 230. The cases will be heard from 10 AM to noon, one hour each. We believe that we can hear a bit of the session if we line up very early. If you can be in line by 5:30am please join us. It'll be cold and there are no easily available bathrooms so ... prepare as well as possible.

|description = The theme for Women’s History Month this year at Georgetown University is “It’s all the Rage,” where we will engage feminist rage and emotion from intersectional lenses.
|description = Only 17% of biographies on Wikipedia are about women. Help us change that! Join Wikimedia DC and the Daughters of the American Revolution for a Women's History Month editing workshop. Edit Wikipedia and help to improve or create articles about influential women in American history. New editors are welcome. Training will be provided.

Did you know that only 15% of contributors to Wikipedia are women?
This event is free and open to the public. Please bring a laptop and photo ID. Registration is required. Lunch will be provided.

  +
Did you know that women only appear in just over 20% of all images of human beings on Wikimedia Commons?
  +
Did you know efforts are happening around the world to address the “gender gap” on Wikipedia?

  +
Join the Georgetown community to help close this gender gap on Wikipedia by increasing the representation of underrepresented groups — in both Wikipedia content and contributors — on topics such as women in politics, women in STEM, and women in the arts. There will be hands-on training provided by representatives from Wikimedia DC.
