The Board of Directors of Wikimedia DC is assisted by a number of standing, special, and advisory committees, each of which is responsible for a specific area of the organization's business. The members of each committee are appointed by the Board, and each committee reports to the Board during its regular meetings.

Audit Committee

The Audit Committee is a standing committee, responsible for conducting an annual review of the financial records of Wikimedia DC.

The current members of the Audit Committee are:

  • Kirill Lokshin [Chair]
  • Emily Temple-Wood

Content Programs Committee

The Content Programs Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Directors, tasked with advising the Board on programs that help improve the content on Wikimedia projects.

The current members of the Content Programs Committee are:

  • Effie Kapsalis
  • Andrew Lih
  • Dominic McDevitt-Parks [as Cultural Partnerships Coordinator]
  • Sara Snyder
  • Sarah Stierch
  • Emily Temple-Wood [Chair]

Election Committee

The Election Committee is a special committee of the Board of Directors, responsible for carrying out the annual election of the Board of Directors.

The Election Committee is currently inactive.

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Directors, responsible for advising the Board on soliciting funds and preparing fundraising materials.

The current members of the Fundraising Committee are:

Governance Committee

The Governance Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Directors, responsible for advising the Board on legal and governance matters and to assist the Board in preparing and reviewing legal documents.

Grants Committee

The Grants Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Directors, responsible for reviewing grant proposals and advising the Board on matters related to grantmaking.

The current members of the Grants Committee are:

  • Peter Meyer [Chair ex officio as Treasurer]

Public Policy Committee

The Public Policy Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Directors, responsible for matters of public policy as it relates to the mission of Wikimedia DC.

The members of the Public Policy Committee are:

Technical Infrastructure Committee

The Technical Infrastructure Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Directors, responsible for maintaining Wikimedia DC's technical infrastructure and advising the Board on technology matters.

The current members of the Technical Infrastructure Committee are:

Technology Programs Committee

The Technology Programs Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of Directors, tasked with advising the Board on programs that develop software in support of the Wikimedia projects.
