Cascadia Wikimedians User Group

Description of purpose

Please tell us a little about the project or activity for which you are requesting funding. Please provide enough detail to allow us to evaluate how your request aligns with our charitable mission.

(5) What is the purpose for which the funding will be used?
Quick-start funding for Cascadia Wikimedians User Group. We are reqesting expedited funding because we have a coupon for 50% off of the first 6 months of the accounting software that we intend to use. The coupon expires January 31.
(6) How does this purpose align with our mission?
Cascadia Wikimedians User Group intends to be a nonprofit, educational, regional affiliate of the Wikimedia movement in Oregon, Washington State, and British Columbia. For more information, please see our goals and Annual Plan which we are currently discussing: [1]

I need to know that a commitment has been made by January 31st to reimburse the expenses. I am willing to spend funds personally and be reimbursed later if I have a commitment that the funds will be reimbursed in a reasonably timely manner.
(9) What specific costs will the funding cover?

Approximate budget breakdown follows:

  1. Two months of Xero subscription, after discount, plus tax: $33
  2. Two months of Impact HUB rent, for 2 days each month: $70
  3. Two months of Impact HUB mailbox rent: $50
  4. State of Washington business license, including $19 processing fee and $5 trade name fee: $24
  5. State of Washington Secretary of State nonprofit corporation registration: $30
  6. City of Seattle registration: $110
  7. City of Bellevue registration: $86
  8. Initial refundable bank deposit with BECU: $5
  9. High-security checkbook from BECU: $35
