Internal:2014 Volunteer of the Year Award

Status: Under Review Wikimedia District of Columbia awards its 2014 Volunteer of the Year Award to Kristin Anderson and Jim Hayes for personal dedication to the advancement of public knowledge and the collection, development, and dissemination of educational content.

Ms. Anderson and Mr. Hayes have demonstrated exemplary commitment as volunteers for Wikimedia District of Columbia, regularly taking time out of their days to attend and volunteer at our events. They are enthusiastic in welcoming newcomers into our community, and are eager to help others learn about the Wikimedia projects. We thank them for their service to Wikimedia District of Columbia and to the Wikimedia movement, and look forward to their continued participation in our volunteer programs.

Mr. Hayes has served on the chapter's public policy committee and spoken on Capitol Hill about Wikimedia. Ms. Anderson organized our first event at the Library of Congress.
